Responsible gaming

Skyward is free and uses virtual coins, but slot-style games can still pull people in. Here is how to keep it fun.

Last updated: October 10, 2026

Remember: there is no real money here. Coins can't be bought, cashed out or exchanged, and there are no real-world prizes. Winning or losing virtual coins says nothing about what would happen in real-money gambling.

Why this page exists

The games imitate real slot machines, with sound, animation and near-misses. For some people that can become a habit even without money at stake, or can make real gambling feel more appealing. We'd rather be open about that than ignore it.

Keep it fun

  • Decide before you start how long you'll play, and stick to it.
  • Take a break at least once an hour. Stand up, drink some water, look at something far away.
  • Play when you're relaxed, not to cope with stress, boredom, loneliness or low mood.
  • Don't let play get in the way of sleep, work, study, family or friends.
  • Never treat these games as practice or a way to learn to "beat" real slots. Real machines are random and the odds favour the house.
  • If you ever feel pressured to play, stop.

Signs it may be becoming a problem

  • You play for longer than you meant to, or lose track of time.
  • You feel restless or irritable when you can't play.
  • You think about the games a lot, or hide how much you play.
  • You feel an urge to move on to real-money gambling.
  • You have gambled with real money and it is causing you stress, debt or arguments.

If any of these sound familiar, it's a good moment to step back and talk to someone.

Taking a break or leaving

  • Close your account yourself. Sign in, open your account page and choose Delete account. It takes effect straight away.
  • Ask us to help. Choose "I want to take a break or close my account" on the Support page.
  • Block it on your device. You can also use your browser or device settings, or a website-blocking tool, to keep the site closed.

Age and families

Skyward is for adults aged 19 and over, and accounts require you to confirm your age. If you share a device with younger people, please don't leave your account signed in, and use your device's parental controls to restrict gambling-style sites and apps.

Where to get help in Canada

  • Find gambling help for Canadians, a directory from the Responsible Gambling Council with services by province and territory.
  • Your doctor, a counsellor or a trusted friend or family member.
  • If you are in distress or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 9-8-8 (Suicide Crisis Helpline, Canada) at any time, or call your local emergency number if you are in immediate danger.
